Education

John was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, in 1950; graduated from Livingston High School in 1968; attended Essex County College in Newark, New Jersey, where he studied engineering and pre-med; and was captain of the golf team from 1968 to 1970.
 
In 1970, he transferred to the University of Georgia and received a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture in 1972. During his two years at the University of Georgia, John was employed to help oversee the operations of the university greenhouses and the College Station Research facility as an assistant to several professors in the Horticulture Department. John was a member of the Ag Hill Council and vice president of the Agronomy Club.

Personal

John Coyne is 75 years old and has five children and eleven grandchildren. I reside with my wife Pamela in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Present Work History

John is the CEO of Management Enterprises Inc., providing various services to the residential and commercial real estate market with over 50 years of experience. More recently, he has expanded the business of Blue Natural Waters Corp., an aquaculture company that recently completed its research and development plan to produce large quantities of tilapia and shrimp in a secure indoor environmental facility.

Independent Living Support

John is also the founder of Managed Environments Inc., which is a nonprofit company continuing with plans to build and manage independent living/housing for young adults with developmental disabilities.

Real Estate Development and Due Diligence

John has been an associate/project manager with the architectural firm of H.D.H. Partnership from 1987 to 1999. John's area of specialty is in real estate due diligence, providing clients with preacquisition and construction inspections, site and land use studies, architectural code compliance research, and providing and implementing a capital improvement strategy and budget to satisfy the needs of the projects. John also worked for the Resolution Trust Corporation, which was started by George H. W. Bush during the Bush Administration.

Leading Large-Scale Real Estate Projects

During his tenure, John has dealt directly with some of the largest real estate investment groups and financial institutions in the United States. H.D.H. has provided services nationally to numerous real estate investment trusts. John was the project manager for H.D.H. from 1993 to 1996, overseeing specific due diligence for the Charles E. Smith Company in Washington, D.C. H.D.H. Partners has completed due diligence and architectural inspections on several hundred properties totaling over three million multi-family units and several million square feet of retail development.

Prior Relationships/Partnerships

John has served in the management and ownership capacity for several of Atlanta’s most respected and recognized companies. He has been with the Fred J. Schwaemmle Corporation and its associated company, Management Enterprises, Inc., overseeing the Apartment Services Division and was a board member of the Company. He later founded Greenleaves, an affiliate of the Calibre Companies of Georgia, responsible for all the land planning and all exterior development of their multi-family projects. Calibre Company developed and managed over 10,000 multi-family units in Atlanta and served other cities throughout the United States.

50 Years of Industry Experience

In addition to his real estate development background, John was also president of Sears Lawn Care Company, a licensee of Sears and Roebuck Inc. The company serviced the metro Atlanta area. The company became second in size and service only to ChemLawn, the national leader in chemical lawn care, until the company was acquired by Graham Law Care and All Green. John has maintained a real estate license in Georgia for over 50 years.

John Had a Strong Work and Ethical Upbringing

John started working, as most young men do, cutting neighbors' lawns and shoveling snow during winters. At 14, he delivered newspapers for the Newark Star-Ledger and, as a senior in high school, got his first full-time summer job with Kinney Shoes. He continued working nights and summer vacations for Sherwin-Williams’s distribution warehouse while attending college until graduation.

Civic Leadership

Being the father of five children, John has served in several areas. He was head coach and director at the Murphy-Candler Little League program; a sponsor to Atlanta Colt Football; an assistant to the Atlanta Junior Golf program; a supporter of the Gwinnett County Soccer program; head coach with the Jonesboro Athletic Association's baseball program; a supporter and assistant to the Georgia Special Olympics; a supporter and assistant to the Atlanta Association for Developmental Disabilities (AADD) recreational program; and the North Metro Miracle League (NMML) baseball program.

Developmental Disability Advocacy

John is an advocate for the developmentally disabled to the state’s Regional Board and the Governor’s Council for the developmentally disabled and advocates for the improvement to their life advancement in a working society. John and his wife Pamela are members of the Roswell United Methodist Church in Roswell, Georgia.
